St Ann fugitive surrenders, charged with 2016 murder
One of St Ann's most wanted men has been arrested and charged with murder following a high-profile case that has gripped the parish for nearly a decade.
Dwayne Christie, 41, also known as 'Kojack', a construction worker from Jack's Hill, St Andrew, turned himself in to police on Sunday, September 21, 2025, accompanied by his attorney. Christie had previously been featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force's "Wanted Wednesdays" list.
Christie faces multiple charges, including murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition.
The charges stem from the fatal shooting of Ronald Gayle in Davis Town, Cascade, St. Ann, on Friday, September 16, 2016. Investigators allege that Christie and Gayle were at a local shop when an argument erupted between them. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, after which Christie allegedly left the scene, only to return with a firearm and fatally shoot Gayle.
Following an interview with investigators on Monday, September 22, Christie was formally charged. His court date is being finalized.
