Sister of retired Chief Justice found dead

A senior citizen, Peggy Aljoe, was found dead at her home in Bridgewater, Discovery Bay, St Ann on Wednesday.

Aljoe, 74, is the sister of retired Chief Justice, Zaila McCalla.

The St Ann police say they received a call in the afternoon that a body was seen outside a house in the community. When they arrived on the scene at around 3:30 p.m., they discovered Aljoe lying on the ground. She was taken to the St Ann's Bay hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Senior Superintendent Michael Smith, head of the St Ann police division, said the matter is being treated as a homicide.

The discovery of Aljoe's body follows that of 14-year-old Raven Wilson, whose body was discovered in St Ann's Bay on Sunday, two days after she was reported missing. Three persons have since been detained for questioning in connection with the incident as investigations continue.
