Man allegedly steals money from workplace
Sleuths assigned to the St Andrew South Police Division have charged 40-year-old Richard Thompson, otherwise called 'Egg Man,' a chef of Hibiscus Avenue, Kingston 6, with simple larceny, following an incident at his place of employment on July 9.
Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that at 4 p.m., a woman had reportedly secured cash inside a zip-locked bag, and placed the bag in a section of the building. The woman reportedly then left the money. On her return, she noticed Thompson was missing. She then proceeded to retrieve the money, but found that it was also missing. The woman immediately made checks to the closed-circuit television system, which connected Thompson to the missing money.
A report was made to the police, and an investigation was launched into the matter. Thompson was later apprehended by the police. He was subsequently charged following a confession statement on Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on January 20, 2026.
