Thirty-nine persons who were arrested during a police raid at the Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries in Montego Bay, St James were today fined for breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act.

The congregrants were each fined $30,000 or 20 days in prison, when they appeared before the St James Parish Court.

Reports are that on the night of Sunday, October 17, lawmen went to the church grounds in response to allegations of a bizarre religious ritual.

Two people were killed during the alleged ritual.

A third was shot dead by the police after he allegedly attacked them.

The police had reported that several persons, including pastor Kevin O. Smith, were detained arising from the operation.

Smith who was expected to be charged in connection with the deaths, was killed in a crash on Monday in St Catherine.

However, congregant Andre Ruddock was slapped with murder and wounding with intent charges.
