Aidonia promises spectacular Magnum Xplosion
Dancehall front-runner Aidonia is no stranger to the demands for entertainment that come during the yuletide season.
The JOP team leader is one of several acts billed for Magnum Xplosion's mega stage show slated for December 14 at Melbourne Cricket Club in Kingston.
Aidonia will take the stage along with labelmate Govana, Agent Sasco, Teejay, Ding Dong, Bling Dawg, Mr Lexx, and Spice.
Aidonia said fans should continue to expect the high-quality performance and epic stage presence to which they are accustomed.
"Every performance is unique in its own way, and I treat every performance with the same attention to detail, whether it's for 25 people in a backyard or a sold-out stadium. I approach every performance as a professional, and Aidonia fans know that," he said.
Known for donning some of the most dapper outfits for performances, Aidonia attributes his distinctive style to a higher respect for the craft.
"Being a performer is a full-time job, whether we admit it or not, and the performance is much more than walking on to the stage for 35 to 40 minutes. It includes everything," he said. "As entertainers, we are always the centre of attention, and personally, I believe how I carry myself should represent that. In the same way a lawyer presents himself for court, that is how I present myself for the fans. They deserve the best of me."
The artiste, who has performed on several Magnum Xplosion stages across the region, said the Jamaican staging will bring the curtains down in fine style.
"The difference with Jamaica is, you can't bring dancehall to where it was born, so fans will experience the most authentic version. A Jamaica we kill the most show, this nah go normal," he said.
